Less than professional Judge

As a judge who is to listen to both parties of a complaint, look at evidence supporting complaint and make a final decision based on such evidence of claims, Bertoli doesn't do any of the above but rather worsen situations by bringing in 3rd & 4th party people to do his job since he is incapable of doing it himself. All this does is cost everyone more money and time that could be better spent on more productive things in life like time with family that he is purposely denying since he likes each case of his to last a year or more. Since you like sports so much Judge Bertoli you on the bench is what is considered to be a Strike Out!!Retire and bring back the good reputation of the Sonoma county Court system. You are failing everyone who once used to have faith in the system.

Broken Judge for a broken system

Hon jim Bertoli hes an okay guy in person. When it comes to being a family judge he has no children he will compare his childhood to that of children today very odd and unusual he is a very temperamental. I have witnessed him make comments in court about his weekend partying habits. His hangovers do affect his rulings so be careful on Monday's. I have had him rule in clients favor. He will ignore all evidence he will rule solely on his own biased opinion mainly against men. In California fathers are already considered an underdog in court. So put a man in front of this is judge and for a fact expect the worst outcome. I only will let female clients be seen by Jim because of his well known biased towards men in general and boy if you have any shade of color to your skin you are automatically guilty. Hope this helps someone reading this.

Horrible!

The word honorable is a joke when it comes to James G Bertoli! I had 2 court appearances in front of him in 2017. I was shocked to see case after, before it was my turn, be ruled completely one sided. This horrible Judge only cares for the “man’s side” even if the man is completely unfit to have his children! Today he did it again to me. He denied my request for emergencies orders to save my child from a completely unsafe situation with his dad! James G Bertoli needs to stop serving in family court!

California Public Records Act §6250-6268

The California Public Records Act is a series of laws meant to guarantee that the public has access to public records of governmental bodies in California. In December of 2011, a Superior Court judge ruled that the California Assembly must also disclose budget records of individual lawmakers, after some California newspapers filed a lawsuit accusing legislators of flouting the state’s open records laws.

Public records in the California Public Records Act are defined as “any writing containing information relating to the conduct of the public’s business prepared, owned, used, or retained by any state or local agency regardless of physical form or characteristics.” There is a separate category of “purely personal information” that, although it may be in the custody of a government agency, does not fall under the act. Statute 6255 states a catch all exemption, “The agency shall justify withholding any record by demonstrating that the record in question is exempt under express provisions of this chapter or that on the facts of the particular case the public interest served by not disclosing the record clearly outweighs the public interest served by disclosure of the record.”

Anyone can request public documents in California, and a purpose does not have to be stated. The California Public Records Act does not regulate the use of records obtained from public agencies. One should allow 10 days for an agency to comply with a records request.
